Airline Check-in, Seat Assignments & Requirements

As this is a very busy time of year for the airlines, I would recommend that you check-in at the airport two hours in advance of your flight. This is recommended for all International Flights. Many of you may not have a seat assignment on one or more of your flight segments. If this is the case it is because the flight is over sold and no seats were available at time of booking. Don't panic, the airline typically holds 10-20 seats to be assigned the day of departure. When you check-in, ask the airline representative to assign you a seat. They may tell you that the gate agent will assign you a seat. If this is the case, go to the gate and let the gate agent know you need a seat assignment.

Don't forget your U.S. passport. You need this to depart your international flight, but more importantly to be allowed back in the U.S.

Luggage: You will not have to pay for your luggage as this is an international flight. Keep your bag to 50 lbs and limit to one bag, plus your carry-on.

Review your reservation online at www.checkmytrip.com or the airline listed next to your name on the Airline Confirmations document posted on this blog. You can print out your itinerary and leave a copy with friends and family.
